While 81% of U.S. hiring decision-makers feel positively about hiring, 90% expect to face challenges over the next year. Finding qualified candidates is a top struggle according to 49%. Most companies (63%) plan to hire for entry-level positions and 36% are interested in hiring vocational/career tech graduates amid increased competition in the job market. To provide accurate and timely employment forecasts for business leaders, Express Employment Professionals commissions an ongoing Job Insights survey to track employment and hiring trends across a wide range of industries. The survey was conducted online within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Express among 1,003 U.S. hiring decision-makers from May 16 to June 3, 2024.
